Message me if you work New England into your plans, we'll go exploring Vermont Class 4 and New Hampshire Class 6 roads. These are historic, even ancient, never-paved roads with rights-of-way but have been abandoned by towns and counties. Rocky and very unpredictable! Very different from Midwest and far-West trails. Like Appalachians--but bigger.
