Warning long post?
First time in-person @ Boerne Ford yesterday with Bronco reservations rep Adan and some comments made were:
1. We have the largest amount of reservations in our area. About 160 reserved. (Me:Which area?) In all San Antonio and Fredericksburg. (Me thinking: if true this could fair well for earlier delivery.)
2. Did you bring your B&P sheet?
(Me in my head: you didn’t ask me to.) Everyone that’s coming in is bringing their b&p and I’m giving them to “my order guy” to do all the ordering. We can submit orders on the 18th (sic December). (Me: ok I will email you my pdf when I’m decided. I heard the order gates open on the 7th.)
Silence.
3. (Me: Are you going to have a more detailed ordering spec sheet than b&p since there’s some redundancy on items that come standard on certain levels? I don’t want to accidentally pay for something that is a standard feature like rock rails.)
I didn’t know that was happening but “my order guy” will catch that before it gets submitted. (Me in my mind: How do I meet the order guy?)
4. (Me: Will I get a final breakdown of what I’m ordering and pricing before it’s ordered?) Oh, you want that? Well sure if you want to see that, we have to stay competitive with everyone.
(Me in my mind: yes, you should have your patron double check their order before finalizing off a b&p sheet. Yes you should be transparent with the charges upfront.)
5. ( Me: How will DIO dealer installed options work if Ford does not install them at factory? “puzzled look ?” I explain lights etc.) Oh we have a guy that’s been trained and doing those types of installs for 20 years. He does lifts too. (Me: Will I get to have input on where they go ..like undercarriage lighting..& what aux switch?)
puzzled ?. Sure.
6. (Me: Most dealerships like to put their stickers or badges on cars. I don’t want that. I’ll take Dealer license plate trim though if you want to add it.)
Yes, we normally add a our emblem with a small Star sticker and you can have it removed here if you don’t want it before you take the vehicle. (Me: No, I don’t want it added at all bc I don’t want someone having to scrub it off.) ? ok
Overall, the dealership seems like a great place and VERY friendly and helpful. I even received a coupon for my next oil change as their separate General Service Center (not mechanical) does ALL makes/models. I’ll be taking my Gmc there to see how I like it.
I was a little taken back by overall lack of knowledge of the product or not getting replies like “I don’t know but let me see what I can find out for you” bc I did ask several questions about options that were not able to be answered. That’s next level of service I would expect.
I’m sending a follow-up email letting them know my expectations.
(Apologies for typos etc)
