I goofed up a bit today. I thought I could take off my soft top by myself. It did end up working but wow that thing is shockingly heavy and unwieldy. I'm gonna need some touch up paint for a couple small spots along where the rails sit. @BobN - USAF I am wondering what your latest top situation is. Have you got a lightweight solution for our summer weather here? I don't think I could roll with just a regular bimini top unless I also get a cargo cover maybe. Rain being the issue, of course. With as much as we've gotten lately and will surely continue to get, gotta be ready at a moment's notice. I may just have to pop the soft top back on there, but bike loading and unloading seems a lot easier without that bottom bar across the tailgate area.

I havent't used it yet for my ev bike but I have a carrier for the trailer hitch. My latest top situation is the hard top. I had bought two kayak lifts from Amazon that were pretty cheap. Less than $100 if I remember correctly. Works like a charm to lift off the soft top in my "barn". Top lift off the hard top which weighs less than the soft top (!) I use a lift with a winch. After removing the soft top I just set it on its shipping platform on the floor covered with moving blankets. Once I get back from my daughters wedding, I think I might put the softtop back on or just wait until March. Depends on how motivated I can get myself. LOL. So in answer, no I don't have a lightweight solution. I think you are on the right track with a shade/bimini and then a full cover for when it pours. Of course, you can't drive it with the full cover on.

The soft top assembly without side and rear panels weights 101.96 LBs! The 4 door rear cap (hard top) weighs 68.12 LBs.

Top notch info, Bob! Thank ya. I am very surprised about that weight difference between the soft top and rear hard top shell. I could certainly feel that 100 lbs when I was trying not to let it slam to the pavement and/or scratch up the vehicle. Also, I took off the 6 bolts first and that turned out to be a massive mistake. I couldn't get it folded, so it was far more unwieldy than it even had to be if I had done things in the correct order.
