Howdy all, any othere here have a 7MT?

Im experiencing some strange grinding noise from the tranny. It sounds like a bunch of rocks rolling around and the dealership is telling me its normal.

I would love to compare the sound to another 7MT in Boise.

Mine makes the same noise. 1300 miles.

Looks like on the Bronco Nation forums there are quite a few issues with the 7MT's.

Someone stated issue with carrier bearing damage in mfg'ing.

Mine's already been to Litha Ford for a checkup so int's notated... just waiting for Ford's TSB or someone to realize it's an issue.

Oh wow, I've had mine since Sept. 2021 and have not experienced anything like that. Good luck. Having a hell of a time getting the recall fix for the front drive shaft boot. Lithia f-ed up my appointment this morning after I drove all the way from Nampa. Made the appointment on Nov 17 and when I got there they said the part needed to be ordered still. WTH.

....sounds about right for Lithia... My wife's car, bronco sports, has been there 6 weeks.
It went in for water pump failure and faulty passenger seat belt. They had backorder on water pump so we had to wait a long time, then that was replaced and it turns out they did the work sequentially so when they did the seat belt, they did not have parts and those were also backordered....so that added 10 days.

I think they are just overwhelmed with volume of customers now in Boise. It's good and bad at the same time.

No issues with my MT either. The only problem Ive had was a vacuum leak and the hood saying it was open. A new valve and latch was ordered which took a week but when it came in Lithia got me in that day. They were really good about fixing my problems.

FORD just released a TSB for the noise. 22-2371 get it in! I will be for sure.

issue: Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with a MT88 manual transmission may experience a rotational scraping noise in ambient temps below 10°C (50°F) and after a cold soak with the transmission in neutral, 1st, and/or 2nd gear and clutch engaged. The noise may go away as the transmission warms up. This may be due to the 5th and 6th gear synchronizer rings. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the 5th and 6th gear synchronizer rings.

Mine has been at Lithia since Jan 4.... they took it apart, found a broken plastic spacer ring.... and that spacer ring has been on backorder. My Bronco has been there for 65 days now :(

Please note for mine (still in service...)

It took ALL of the TSB parts (were already there for me on Jan 4)
+ roller bearing (arrived)
+ spacer ring (MU7Z*7C419*A ) backordered

Thanks for the heads up. I will see if they can just complete the diagnoses for now and start ordering the parts, then schedule a tear down day. 65 days is a loooong wait in the shop. I sure don't want to get in that line.
