Made it to Top of the World yesterday! Much more difficult than I expected from YouTube’s of broncos just cruising up (and down). Multiple times I thought we’d need to turn around. I envy those with a front camera. I took a few ledges down, way too hard. From what I could tell, the bronco made it out okay. Bash plate, skids, and sliders did what I needed them to do. Couple photos; haven’t looked at GoPro footage yet.

What other trails are you planning while out there? I want to live vicariously through you

@DREWR13 I did this trip with my dad, one vehicle. We did mostly easy, scenic trails (2,3,4 according to Trails Off-road, Easy/Moderate according to FunTreks). Top of the World (6/8, Difficult) was by far harder than the rest.

Before Moab we went to Badlands and Black Hills. Only did one trail near badlands: sheep mountain (easy, great views).

Wed evening arrived in Moab and headed straight to Eye of the Whale via Willow Springs Road and Eye of the Whale Trail (3). This is also a back entrance into Arches so we got to experience sunset there.

Thursday we took Gemini Bridge (2) towards Canyonlands, did the park, then took Shafer Trail down (2) and Potash Rd (2) through the valley. That was so cool. Canyonlands is the Island in the Sky and we spent hours looking down at canyons and taking pictures. Got to experience the same sites from a completely different perspective down below.

Friday, back at Arches for sunrise, then did Tower Arch Trail (4). Those trails attached to Arches are cool. Pretty easy but you get away from the people in the park and we might have seen 1 or 2 private tour guides, but otherwise completely remote. Had lunch downtown and decided to go for it and do Top of the World (6/8). Round trip from Moab it was 7 hrs for us and we didn’t spend long at the top because it was getting late. The actual trail time from the Top of the World sign and back was probably 4.5 hrs, but that’s after 30 minute paved and another 30 min gravel drive.

This morning we did Hurrah Pass (2) before heading out. Beautiful and I got some drone shots I can share when I get some down time. Heading towards Bryce today.

note: national parks and some state parks (e.g., dead horse) don’t allow drones, but my understanding is they are okay on the blm land
