Sounds great. I’m in. Maybe I’ll bring the Jeep for some more intense rides. Keeping it light on the fancy new truck for now. “I don’t want to scratch it.” Lol

I’m thinking of going back to Wharton sometime soon if others start talking up a date.. as for AOAA and Rausch I’d like to wait till it gets warmer in the spring

@JBMontclair Talk to me about Wharton. I've never "wheeled" there. Is it just trails with no obstacles? Or is there something to crawl on, a bit? Thanks!

Been only once just before Xmas. Definitely didn't see all of it, it's rather large overall. What I saw wasn't much in the way of rock crawling like you find in PA parks. Ground is soft and there are spots that are actual sand. I stopped in one and forgetting I swapped to 2H earlier had trouble getting started till I realized my mistake. We didn't bother airing down when we went in. This might have led to some getting stuck in the mud holes on the trail. For most part these holes are the obstacles and are quite deep. All three broncos on the ride had to get yanked out with a towstrap. Even the 2door squatch with 37s. He had that deep enough to take water up through open drain holes in his floor. I heard someone once joke about there actually being quicksand there. Now I'm less certain they were joking. Some trails can be done at higher speeds than you would likely do on greens at RC and aoaa, more of a Baja experience. Other trails were narrow or had washboard style ups and downs through the forest. due to lack of rocks at least where I've been I would say under armor is less of a need there. All told was a fun place to spend a day And would love it if someone with years of experience on those trails can show us around more.

We did find some narrow trails at Wharton that were a little more challenging due to width, but a lot more scratchy.

yeah.. didnt find any actual scratches in the paint from that trip. same is true however at RC and AOAA.. been on trails there that felt like they were surgically cut for a jeep and had to pull the side mirrors in and put on trail turn to help in some turns.

Im in! Would love to join in on a trial ride. Been meaning to go to Wharton but wouldn't mind going as part of a group!

I'd do Wharton as a fun day for sure. Anyone want to try to make it official?

I don’t know of any weekends plans for me. looks like Sunday (36) is warmer thanks Saturday (24) in the current forecast. I should know my availability tonight - does Sunday work for others or should we try for following week if too cold or short notice?

Oh and just realized Monday is a holiday so I guess we can consider that too which looks like its going to be a rainy 42F tapering off in in mid-day

I decided to play around a bit with the events on this forum.. I added one set for this monday in Wharton but we can see what interest and move it around if necessary (please checkout the events tab and we can track comments there as to day preference and other logistics)

Anyone else having a problem adding replies? Says "server error, try again later."

@JBMontclair Not working for me. It won't let me reply. Oh well, like I said, I'll get prepared for the future, and also get my rig broken in. I don't even have 300 miles on it yet, so I'm not keen on swimming in 3' holes just yet.
