I picked up mine on Friday night in Roseville. New to the area. Any off-road parks suggestions?

congratulations! And I'm interested in the question too, there doesn't seem to be too much. There is Carnegie outside of Livermore, I've never been and from what I can tell it's mostly for dirt bikes but seems to have some "jeep trail" things and obstacles to play with, at least try out the different settings and all that.
There is Hollister, which seems to be much larger and also more geared to all kinds of off road vehicles, theres is one somewhere outside of Sacramento and there's Stonyford off road park some 2 or so hours up I5 that I want to visit, a friend of mine lives mostly in Stonyford now.

I'm not aware of any trails close to the Bay Area, but would love suggestions. My California Backroads and Trails guide book lists mostly things that are at least a weekend trip with over night, most would make more sense for a short vacation from the Bay Area.

I will probably be going to Hollister next weekend as well

@Jeet_1986 share some info once you're back, I don't want to drive that far w/o knowing if it's worth it. Seems like a great area though, have you been before?

The only off-road park close by is prairie City. It's a great place to get your feet wet especially with a new vehicle. It only cost $5 and I was there a couple Monday mornings ago (in my jeep) and was the only one there until lunch.

One place that is great for just doing some light off-roading is up in the forest hill area and that national forest. You can go there and explore those roads for free and it makes for a great day. Look for something called Forest Hill Rock quarry. Under normal conditions people can go up there and target shoot but there's a big loop you can do and there's some roads up there they can be pretty fun.
