Test Drive!! Had my first opportunity to test drive a Badlands Bronco at Hardy Ford this morning. They are providing 30 minute test drives for current order holders at the dealership. It was a 2.3L, nonSas, and had no upgraded packages.

My impressions. First, the 8" screen is big enough for me. The 12" maybe nice for off roading, but for every day driving it'd be overkill for me. Second, at highway speeds the interior is pretty quiet. Not as much road noise as I expected. Third, the stock radio was plenty loud enough (with windows and top up). Fourth, and probably the only negative was that the 2.3 lagged in acceleration when starting from a stop. Several times I had higher RPMs than I am use to whengetting it up to speed. I can only imagine its lag with 35" tires. I am glad I am going with the 2.7L. However...once at highway speeds the Bronco feels comfortable. I was driving above speed limit the entire time and it didn't feel like it. Fifth, Marine Grade Vinyl was soft to the touch and very comfortable, i think I'd prefer it over leather honestly. Sixth and final, my order was an AMB, so I'll need to change my color for MY22. I was impressed with the Cyber Orange. Yes, it looks slightly like school bus yellow BUT the metal flakes really sets it off. If you haven't seen one yet in person you need to. This may be my new color.

Next weekend is Las Vegas Off-Roadeo for me, so I didn't play with swaybar, differentials or GOAT modes today. I figured I'd leave it for the trails...

Let me know if you have any questions about my experience. Even though it's most likely next summer before I see my Bronco, I am excited as ever!! Thanks to Hardy Ford and Alison for the test drive!!

Thanks for your impressions. I look forward to your feedback from Off-Roadeo. I tried to schedule for end of December but no dates were available. Will have to look at next year on that. Enjoy your time there.

@Hobgoblin Thanks. I was wanting Moab but trying to get it in on a weekend was impossible. The Vegas site has similarities to Moab and easier to get to via ATL. Feel free to reach out after next week if you have any questions about the off rodeo...👍

I have driven the 2.3 in a demo and now driving the 2.7 is glorious. Tons of power for acceleration. I've got 400 miles on mine now and love it. I'm going to the offroadeo Oct 9th in Moab so looking forward to testing the offroad goodies.

@DREWR13 agree. No disrespect to the 2.3L, but when i hit the gas pedal i want an immediate response. The 2.3 wasn't doing it for me today. Will love to hear about your Moab Off-Roadeo experience. Hopefully we can all get together in a year or two and head out there as a group with our own Broncos! 😃👍

@JMiles74 I've got the 2.3 and aside from the occasional turbo lag off the start (it's not every time), it's performed very well.

@BTomorama I'm sure some of it had to do with me being unfamiliar with how much pressure was needed to get her moving. Im use to driving a small sedan so it'll take some getting use to...I will say that it does cruise well. I was going 65-70 on highway 61 and 92 and didn't feel like it. That'll be scary in the 2.7. I may get a few speeding tickets. 😆

@JMiles74 drove the same one last Friday and great experience. Did Eric take you out for a spin? The payoff for me with the decked out Gladiator in front of me at a light and the looks the Bronco was getting from male and female passenger....priceless.

I believe the person that took us out was Robert, not too sure. That's great about getting all the looks. I was too focused on the drive to look around much...30 minutes went by way too fast. Jokingly, I tried talking Alison in letting me have for the weekend but she was having non of those shenanigans. I'm heading out to Vegas Off-Roadeo right now. Can't wait to go off roading in this thing. Super pumped, even if i wont see my Bronco till next summer (hopefully)...
