Good Morning Folks! I want to share an update with the group on my purchase, delivery and initial impressions. I am one of the lucky ones and I know that most of you are still waiting with no build date or VIN. I hope this will provide a little bit of encouragement as you wait for your Bronco and please let me know any questions that you have.
My build is an OBX, 4dr, Soft top, A51, 2.3L/Auto, Auxiliary Switches, 4.27 Locking Rear Diff, Cargo/Floor liners. I plan to drive it stock for a while to learn the vehicle and determine how best to spend my money on mods.
First, hats off to @NayNay and I cannot thank her enough for her support, information and encouragement during this whole process. She is as excited about your Bronco as you are, so treat her right and trust what she says. This means write excellent reviews and find a nice way to say thank you.
Remember, this is not her main job; it is above and beyond. Also, Shameka was excellent in hosting our purchase experience. She is a hoot! She walked us through the vehicle, took us on a very informative test ride (ask her about the Alpaca farm), and made us feel right at home.
Second, LOVE this Bronco! When I moved my reservation to Leonardtown I was stationed in Virginia but I have since retired and just moved to NW Florida (over 1,000 miles from the dealership). I chose to road trip to get the Bronco rather than have it shipped and so glad that I did. This Bronco eats up the miles! The ride/drivability are excellent, the soft top is way better than I expected and the seats/cockpit are comfortable and fit me perfectly. Love the tech (High Package)! I really love the A51 color and I think it will become one of the classic Bronco colors. My road trip partner was very impressed (he has a classic Corvette, Willys Jeep and mid 60's Chevy pickup) with how responsive the Bronco was (2.3L/Auto) and how he felt very connected to the road while driving. No time yet to go off road because of moving and new job but when I do I will update. Lucky for me that I now live beside Eglin AFB (one of if not the largest military reservations in the country) which has way more dirt roads and trails than I have years to discover. Here are a few pics that I hope will communicate my experience, and yes, it is well worth the wait!
Me and my Wingman (the bearded sage) after a 12+ hour drive.
My lovely wife and daughter with big smiles.
Yours truly with the lovely Santa Rosa Beach in the background.
