I met my first two-door Badlands Sasquatch today - maybe the first in the city.

Anyhoo, the truck had 35" Goodyear Territory MTs on it - standard tires. NOTE: no "wrangler" on the tire - "Goodyear" twice. (Looked great, FYI.)

The owner said the tires, and most likely, the truck, throws rocks like crazy. Driving on gravel roads, the rear fenders were already cut-up on the front from rocks thrown from the front tires. He also said the back tires throw rocks 50 yards and that you don't want to be behind one of these. I imagine the same will happen in winter with the gravel on the roads.

Mudflaps might be a good idea. Seems Ford might have missed this.

I'll definitely get mudflaps, also hate the 'rooster tail' of dirt up the doors.
When I test drove my dealer's mannequin I went to a gravel lot to try the trail turn assist, Bronco was tossing rocks for a while after that. Just looking to find some that fit a Badlands and not gonna spend some $450+ for those Gatorback ones on the accessory catalog, that's an idiotic price. Somebody will make some with a reasonable price. I also don't really want Bronco or anything else written on them, why draw attention? Just make mine black

I also have a hatred of any excess branding on accessories and aftermarket parts. I refuse to drive around with dealer stickers or vanity plates too. I love the look of raptors but I hate how they're all in your face FORD and RAPTOR.

That’s the whole point and why most people buy them.

No way I would pay $900 for a set of mudflaps (the accessory price of $449 is for only 2 flaps, front or rear) are they diamond encrusted or autographed by Carrol Shelby (good luck getting that) or did someone make a mistake with the decimal point? Besides they have holes in them,

You can count on that Weathertech and others will have some great options for a fraction of the cost of Ford parts. I have had Weathertech flaps on my Raptor for almost 4 years. The have held up extremely well. Without them the paint on the doors and bed would be trashed.

It's not really the truck, it's the tires. The grooves in the tires are just the right size to get small pebbles lodged in there, and not eject them until going about 50mph.

At the Moab off-roadeo when we were leaving the trail and headed back to camp, the instructors actually told us to leave about 100 yards of distance between broncos when we got back on the highway so that we didn't pepper all of the vehicles with trail rocks.

Just make them easily detachable, like the fender flares. Otherwise, they’ll likely get trashed going on any decently challenging trail off-road (especially rock crawling).

Most AT treads collect rocks. I live on a 2200 gravel driveway. I’ve had nitro trail grapplers, Toyos, Goodyear RTS, ATS and some kind of cooper ATs. All of them collect the 1/2-3/4” rocks and sling them everywhere.

I suckered up for the Gatorbacks, I did find them for "slightly" less at $350 a pair online.. They will go on after I drive the 1.5 miles home from the dealer.

I would never pay this much if there were options... but there isn't right now for something that works with SAS and rock rails. I do like that they are super long for SAS(they actually state that they are too long for base tires) I don't think I will ever slide out the lower portions for off road...

Ideally these work well on my FE.... the only other option for me was PPF and it was going to be more expensive

Anyone seen a picture of a bronco with the mud flaps installed? Typically I don't like the looks, but will reserve judgement until I see for myself. Sounds like they might be a good idea though.

Haven't seen a picture, per se. I saw them in person. I may have video of them on my phone, actually.

Point being, they don't look bad, at all. I'm getting them on mine, for all the reasons.

mud flaps will be great for most, but as soon as you are driving over anything larger than a parking stop in your local mall's parking lot the flaps will begin to hit and tear loose. for daily driving, they are great, but they will become a problem when taking advantage of the suspension's articulation..
