Additionally, those using any plan, A/Z/X/D, if available, know the following:

"The customer must register the vehicle in the US, and retain it in their name for at least 6 months. The vehicle may not be exported out of the US.".

It appears the same process Ford used for MachE. Reservation holders will be contacted to convert to an order. At this point if you want to switch dealers, you tell them and Ford support processes the dealership reassignment.
Upon confirmation of dealership change, you'll firm up your order including trim, color, options and your reservation number then gets an order number with it.

If your fine with the dealership you reserved with, you'll convert to an order right when your notified and specify trim, options, color etc.

Reservations will have an expiration day that if not converted to an order, reservation is no longer valid. Production will be in order of reservation date and then order date with batched in like trims etc.

If we wait until the final days to convert our reservation, maybe to time with a lease end, or whatever, they aren't going to hold the production run/batch for us. We will just que the front of the next batch schedule according to the reservation number.

Example:
1st reservation and 1st order conversion dates = among first batch of Broncos made.

1st reservation and the very last order conversion date = Your Bronco will arrive later, like you planned, and could be with much later Reservations that converted as soon as they were allowed.

Hope this helps.
Where does price negotiation fall in this process? Is it when it turn to an order?

I would have that discussion at order time for sure. Even our firm order isn't a legal contract, that comes upon delivery, consideration ($), and acceptance, we should know what the bottom line price is going to be and if Ford plan eligible they'll honor it prior to converting our reservation to an order.

Once the Order is in, the Reserved/Ordered Bronco is going to that dealership.

We wouldn't want it arriving with price not having been agreed to.

When the vehicle arrives and your inspect and accept it, finance terms, lease terms, and purchase contract should be the only outliers. We may pay cash, Ford may have financing rates/terms more desirable than our bank or credit union, etc;, but that's it. Price agreement prior to Order.

Hypothetically because I wouldnt sell it and Im not trying to profit etc...

Wouldnt adding the +1 owner be bad for value?

I have two reservations - Wildtrak and Badlands. I doubt they will care how it shakes out once the Bronco arrives.
Us as well. We have two Badlands, and two Wildtraks in both 2/4 doors because we couldn’t decide. The two wildtraks were reserved within the first couple hours, the next two early the next morning.

Thanks for this thread! I spent the last hour on the phone with the dealer and trying to contact Ford to get an answer to this question. I, too, reserved a WildTrak and then changed my mind. I didn't realize it only came in auto.

@schase has created a spreadsheet over at 2021 Bronco Dealers: No-ADM, X-Plans & Special Discounts Master List where we are sharing dealer’s with and without ADM, accepting X-Plans, etc.

I’m happy this puts the power in our hands and can get the best deal available. Ford dealerships are going to make money but how much depends on how many... more business means more money so I’m happy to find the best deal and push all our business their way!

So I just spoke to my local rep. I originally reserved a Wildtrak and expressed my desire to change to a badlands.

She called and read me word for word the email she received from her Ford rep/contact/whatever you call them.

1) You CAN change the model in December when you place your order (obviously not to a FE though).
2) Broncos should be getting built in the order they were reserved. So If you ordered on launch day and then a couple days later reserved another one, the first one reserved should be build first.
3) You will be able to change the dealer. She said they will be receiving information from Ford on how this process will work in the next week.

That's all I know!
give me more!!!

awesome - we just need news on whether we will see a real Bronco in person when we finalize orders in Dec.

I only placed one order so this is good - mine went in 2.5 hours after the start of the reveal 10:30 pm on Monday - (EST) - hopefully that gets me production in the first few weeks. I promise to have patience with teething issues.

Sounds like the 'Reservation' sets an allocation for the selected (whether it was what you wanted or not) dealer, so they can order it when the order banks open. Once a dealership has an allocation, I believe it is theirs and the other part of the reservation gives first right of refusal to the guy or gal who laid down their $100 deposit (it is not a reservation for a vehicle, it is a reservation for a spot in line to order a vehicle, for which a dealer needs to have an allocation to order. It is very clear in the reservation verbiage.) It might be that there is some legal stuff to work out between Ford and the dealers to make the allocation portable. If the allocation is not transferable without both Ford and the dealer agreeing, then yeah, they can charge whatever they want and if you walk away, they can sell it to anyone.

It might not be that the dealers are not understanding the reservation process, it might be the buyers (due to Ford being less than clear with the process) do not understand it. I certainly hope that my take on the process is wrong as it would be a recipe for disaster, however it fits with everything I have read.

Do not forget, Ford has a dealer network and cannot sell cars directly to the public due to contract restrictions with those dealers. All your $100 bought you was a promise of a spot in line to order a vehicle from a dealer, not a specific vehicle and for better or worse; dealers will set a price to what they market will bear. Ford has no control over it.

I have no inside information at all on this, just putting together all of the anecdotal recaps on here of conversations with dealers and what I read on the Ford site to come up with my interpretation.

Perhaps a dealer type can chime in to refute or confirm the veracity of my musings?

yes, it did, but every call with Ford customer service/marketing has contradicted the FAQ and said we were out of luck and at the mercy of the dealers.

This thread gives me such hope and puts a big smile on my face.
