Dealership Changing MSRP Deal

I wonder if you could 99 your order then maybe change dealers before the 22MY rolls out. If this is not a possibility I would cancel the order completely and make damn sure the dealer didn't get the allocation.

They're gonna tack on $10k to your Bronco and.no matter how cool they are the fact is they're not worth the negative equity.

Only the region can change an order back to 99, and it’s at the request of the dealership… and an order can not be transferred once placed (only reservations).

If I were OP, I would refer to any communication that already occurred, and let the dealership know that even if it’s not a “contract” per se, it’s still technically a contract they agreed on and is in writing… and they are welcome to do whatever sleazy thing they want to unsuspecting buyers, but they’re gonna have to honor the agreement made at order time or there will be hell to pay.

In the very least that can be social media, or I would bluff and say you have a lawyer on retainer that doesn’t cost a dime, and they’ll spend more on fighting the civil actions than they’ll save just honoring the deal.

Just to understand though a dealer can mark up after an order but you aren’t obligated to take/pay for the vehicle on an order right? You are just out of getting the bronco you wanted at that price you thought. Not ideal I know but you aren’t forced to pay the piper.

As bad as I want my Bronco, which likely will arrive this month, I’m not sure I won’t cancel it this happens to me. I already significantly pushed my MSRP up beyond my budget when I switched to four-door to get soft top. The spirit of taking reservations a year ago was so people with reservations wouldn’t face this bullshit.

Name the Dealer here and now to help searchout any fellow victims. There is a power in numbers that the dealer is underestimating. This Dealer is hoping to keep their victims separated and isolated.

As mentioned, contact Ford Bronco CS, Ford Zone Rep, any consumer advocate from local TV stations to your State's AG especially if they have an office of Consumer Affairs.

Fight the dealer in the court of public opinion then lawyer up and hit them with the threat Civil Action.

The dealer is going to realize their greed is not worth their potential loss.

I specifically went with this dealer because they originally promised they wouldn’t up charge the bronco and would only charge MSRP. Of course they made this change and informed order holders after the deadline to change dealers. Anyone else being faced with this issue? Several legal issues come to mind with this tactic not to mention consumer protection issues.

And is there some reason that you are not stating what dealer it is? The world wants to know...

Just spit balling here, forgive my ignorance if I am off base, but I wonder by the fact Ford said the price of the Bronco was locked in if ordered by March 19, 2021, would carry any weight in this case, especially if this ends up in a litigious situation??

With the way OP wrote his post, asking for advice, it wouldn't be defamation. If he just happened to state the dealer's name, then no biggie.

Now if he came out and said that "(Dealer) is trying to steal my money and they're a bunch of crooks" then yeah, that'd be defamation.

Wait, have you placed an order eith this dealer with an order sheet on DORA? Doesn't seem like they can change the price.

I've never ordered without one.
