Pardon me if this info is known already but I discussed with someone that reviews cars professionally and he said his test drive will be released this Monday, I am assuming that means the embargo is lifted by this Monday.

I am excited for those reviews because being a 07/13 reservation but with no scheduling in sight at least it gives me something to watch..

Looking forward to seeing comparisons with Jeep Wrangler. In reality there are only two vehicles in the open top 4x4 class, at least in the USA. Reviews comparing them will be useful.

Yeah anyone that has been watching the TFL Bronco week videos, they have stated multiple times that they're driving impressions have to wait until Monday the 28th.

How does this help the consumer or auto maker?

Embargo lifts at midnight. Of course, it only ever applied to media personnel who signed the agreement in exchange for early access. Customers who have been taking delivery over the past week can say whatever they want. There has been little coming out on that front but that’s normal. Hopefully they’re all out enjoying their new toys.

the main reason for embargo is to make sure the info being released is accurate and representative of the final product. They also don’t want various media outlets or influencers having an impact on their own marketing efforts.

It helps the reviewers and the auto maker.

Not every reviewer can test drive simultaneously, or produce at the same speed, so the automaker does the favor of letting all of the invitees get their sh*t together and then release all at the same time (so one doesn’t scoop another).

It helps the manufacturer because he creates a TON of buzz (basically another reveal night), and assuming your product isn’t a piece of warm garbage, any critiques get buried inside all the good news.

It also leverages the hype to coincide with actual sales… driving reviews come out, and everyone who had been waiting to hear them, or had forgotten about the vehicle can impulsively run to a dealer and buy it immediately (well, with any normal car launch…)

Plus, by waiting until the vehicles are available, people who hear the hype will start seeing them around, psychologically reinforcing that it’s a car that people are buying. (Imagine someone who hasn’t been following the bronco production drama seeing a driving review, thinking they might want one, but then not seeing anyone driving one around in the real world… the natural assumption would be it’s actually terrible and no one is buying them)

In talking with my Bronco specialist he indicated that everyone from their family of dealerships (specifically the Jeep people) said Ford really did the Bronco right. The ones that arrended the Off-rodeo that is…
