So to clarify, they are still manufacturing MIC hard tops, just less than expected. If you have a MIC order on a 4 door you still might get a MY21 or MY22 with that hard top.

You can opt for a soft top now to expedite your order and aftermarket hardtops bought as an accessory will be available in 23.

Unless Im wrong everyone seems to be misunderstanding and thinking all hard tops are delayed to 2023 which is simply not the case….

Keep the heat! If we blow them up enough even the employees will start speaking out internally, managers can't put out escalated calls fast enough, which Directors hear about, and then Executives hear about....and somewhere in that point more negative press, financial losses, etc. Having been working in corporate for many years, this technique works and companies will do even more to save face.
I think they might go full turtle and just retract into their shell. I genuinely felt bad for the guy, he sounded like he needed a drink much more than I do. I told him I was very thankful to have a Vin. I believe they are doing all they can. I am employed by a non-automotive industry manufacturing dealership and the inventory is just not out there. Everyday I have to tell multiple people no we just cannot supply what you want/need. It’s frustrating to all parties. It’s incredibly hard to tell a family run operation that we cannot supply them the tools to provide better for his family. In my opinion, I really don’t see this type of constraint in manufacturing to show any bit of easing until spring of next year.

How does everyone read this?
  • Price Protection Extension thru 2023 model year - We'll continue to offer price protection to all Bronco order and reservation holders (as of March 19, 2021) to ensure you will not see an increase in MSRP if you receive an equivalent 2023 model year Bronco.
I originally reserved a Big Bend, decided I wanted a BaseManSquatch but then changed to Badlands to get mid package. My reservation was converted to an order on March 18th, but set at 99, but it doesn’t appear my submitted build was used. I’m reading equivalent to mean Big Bend and not Badlands.

Anyone else reading it this way?
I believe you are covered.

That is the way I am reading it.

wow. How long ago did they finalize the design of the hard top? Covid, I get it. But this seems more like a crappy job of outsourcing to me. I am glad I wanted a soft top anyway, but I feel for you 2 door and and hard top option folks. This really hurts my level of trust in Ford's ability to do their job. Inread about how badly the last big explorer roll out went...
Webasto makes the tops for virtually every convertible out there. They are the biggest name in that particular industry.. Ford didn't just go with some mom and pop operation. Why they didn't also grab #2, I have no idea.

At this rate some random will be able to buy dealer stock, ride around in it for a bit then probably be able to buy a non Webasto aftermarket top before many of us get our simple MIC orders...
I can see it being this time next year before many of us day 1 or 2 folks get our Broncos. That's nearly 2 YEARS from reservation to fulfilment. If people aren't getting fired over this it's an absolute travesty.

My wife just asked when are they redesigning 4Runner. We love Broncos, have made 20 hours worth of drives just to see them but something's gotta give, damn.

I don't know if I appreciate this email or it pisses me further off. Think it pisses me further.

No white top til 2023! Only reason that I wasn't bitching about being pushed to next year was FOR MY WHITE TOP without having to buy it separate and have two tops.

What I need from Ford is a deep ass discount on my white top. This is the shit that may make me move on to something else. Maybe I'm being emo today, but if I feel the same in a couple of months......

That's quite literally not the case... they've been pretty transparent about the delays in MIC production and what they're doing to try to fix it.

I get being frustrated, but this level of revisionist history isn't going to help anything.
I mean my dealer (who Ford has said to go to for updates) has told me over the past month that MIC issues were ironed out. Obviously that is now not the case. My dealer is good and has always had good info. I get things are always changing but Ford should not be off the hook for this. Like they said, Ford has known about this for awhile, appears they needed more "millions" for this. We are past the point of this helping, but just putting out there what I've been told/known.

And don't even get me started on the building dealer stock before orders/reservations...you cannot defend that

I've been out in the real world this afternoon and I can't catch up on 35 pages of what must be a lot of screaming, but I will say that personally, this news about the modular hard top is brutal.

edit: This has now honestly got me thinking about looking at other vehicles and then maybe coming back to the Ford Bronco when they have a some cool new edition out in a later model year. We'll see if I hold on. Too bad.
I'm seeing a lot of ads for jeeps lately. I'm sure not a coincidence. Wish I had a better idea on timing. I need to plan based on timing.

I posted that this was going to happen a month ago, and the @Administrator deleted my post. Why didn’t he believe me?
