REMOTE START WITHOUT MID PACKAGE?

Hello all,

with regards to “remote start”, as Ling as you have an automatic transmission, does anyone know if you can just use the Ford Pass app to remote start your Bronco, without actually adding the remote start option?

of course it won’t work if you don’t have signal/wifi.

Looks like it only comes with the mid package. I can't find where you can remote start the Bronco with the Ford app, but I would think it would be possible. But, who knows? I can remote start my Ranger XL/STX with the app, and it doesn't have remote start from the key fob.

I was under the impression auto start with a key fob was what the mid package referred to

but the Ford pass allowed you to auto start the base.

coulda sworn that’s been eluded to on this forum before.

oh well.

I do not have a remote start key fob for my bronco ranger. I can remote start the Ranger from my ford pass account tho.

We bought a Bronco Sport (Big Bend) a couple of weeks ago, no factory remote start included but can remote start from the app, not sure if the Bronco will be the same but hope so since I ordered the Basesquatch.

All the documentation and discussion thus far suggest that FordPass Connect is standard on Base, so as long as you have cell reception (on both sides of the equation) you can remotely start your Bronco via the App.

The "remote start" available with the Mid Package is the integration with the Fob that doesn't require internet connectivity to operate.

No. You have to have remote start or the Ford pass app won’t even have an option. That is my understanding anyway.

Ford Pass works on my transit connect, and I don't have remote start added.

If I'm not mistaken I think I saw a remote start key fob on the Bronco accessories page, so it's probably just the remote start via the app unless you buy that.

I believe you can use the FordPass app on an Apple Watch. I had an old Lexus that I could start via Amazon Alexa or Siri which was nice.
