So you have a 14 July reservation, not a 17 July one?
I have 7/14 early and 7/17 late. The one on 7/17 hasn't a chance in hell at MY21 now

Edit: Just realized I wrote 7/17 on my prior post, meant to write 7/14

I spoke to Stephens on the yesterday. I have an early morning July 17 reservation with them and John said I was number 92 out of about 350. He said there were about 10 cancellations before me, so that puts me at #82 with a reservation made in the first 10-11 hours of launch.

Being 82 when they only get 70 allocations places me in MY22 which is a disaster for me. Unfortunately based upon this it seems like Stephens is under-allocated relative to other dealers. Never would dream an early morning 7/14 puts me in MY22. :(
Stick with it bud. Allocations can change. It's still relatively early on this journey. 2021 will be long, emotional, and subject to many twists and turns

I think he means he switched to stephens on July 17th but reserved July 14th

I'm going to call around and see where my timestamp puts me at other dealers. I want my vehicle asap so may have to pay more? I only have one item that would delay me, so good chance I'd get MY21 at Stephens. For example, I don't want Squatch.
Good luck, hope it works out. I want mine ASAP too, but I have 3 extended wait times items. We’ll see...

Made a typo. The reservation I was discussing was early morning July 14, not 17. I could not get on the website during 4 hours of trying on the 13th and went to bed frustrated.

So, my 7/14 early morning reservation may now be MY22 at Stephens if their low allocation does not improve. John said he only expects a few more added to the allocation which would screw me.

Thanks for the update John!
I was always going to be a MY22 so just learning as we go.

Sounds like the 2.7 is a constrained item now, I would assume they will have this sorted out in short order since it is a main component of the truck.

Question:
Could orders get bumped down the line unless they change to the 2.3? How does this figure in if out of the 70 allocated 35 want a 2.7 and Ford runs out?

Guessing the answer to if you can actually get a 2.7 may be based on your time stamp. If Ford uses up all the 2.7 engines prior to your time stamp / build even though you may be in the first allocation you may have to wait??

I got the email in addition to seeing it here. I thought my email would give me an idea of where I stand. Their allotment of 70 isn't even 30% as seems to be standard. I remember from another post they had a little over 300 reservations. If we lower down to 300 then that is about 23% which is lower than any dealer I have seen posted on here. I am 7/14 reservation. I have no idea where I stand on their initial allocations.
Remember, it's roughly 30% of the reservations prior to Sept 18th. So SAC would only need about 230 out of the 300+ to be before Sept 18th to reach the 30%. This could be an explanation why the 70 seems lower than you expect. I'm just guessing here though.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I think you are jumping the gun by assuming since you're out of the initial allocation ESTIMATES that you're getting a MY22.

Let's say there are 190K ish reservations. If 50% of those convert to orders thats a total of 95K reserved Broncos. Ford says they can make 60K for MY21.

If you're in the top 2/3rds of reserved Broncos, you're likely getting a MY21.

Or am I misunderstanding something?

The way I read this latest information I'm Not even sure Stephens is going to place all the reservaions because of the limited 2021 production??????

I have a phone message into them right now on this. I want my order placed reguardless of production estimate on how many will be built!
How did you come to that conclusion?

It seems like it would be better if those that have reservations that will most likely fall into MY22, go ahead and place the order anyway. This would possibly allow a few more Stephens customers to get their MY21 Broncos. Am I wrong?

Any downside to this? Does placing your order lock you into the specific trim, even if it gets pushed into MY22?

I'm leaning towards a build that would be available in MY21, but based on my date (not the first night) it will probably fall into MY22. I was just wondering what happens if I place an order for a Black Diamond and I win the lottery before MY22 and decide to go all out on a Badlands with every single accessory possible? New colors, etc. are supposed to be available in MY22, just wondering if we can change the trim as well.

A lot can happen in eleven months..
I see no downside to diving in with your order. My wife and I decided to do the same. We will land wherever we land. I want a BD with Squatch and 2.7L with an AM 2nd day reservation. If its a late delivery or it pushes to MY22, so be it.

Here is what bothers me about this. Unless you want a part that Ford doesn’t have, you should get your truck this year. So SAC puts your order in and ford won’t build a 7/14 reservation because the dealer it goes to doesn’t have enough allocations! That would be enough for me to tell ford to shove it up their ass! Or what, they build it but it sits at the plant till what?
