What actually comes with it? Is it just the receiver? If I don't get one, will it still be prewired and I can just get aftermarket? I'd rather spend the $595 on other accessories if it's just a receiver...?

We dont know yet. Hopefully order guides are released to dealers soon, those will have the contents of the package.

I think it’s the receiver and plugs for that price.

It’s wired for a trailer too. All I need is the receiver for racks and another snatch strap point, so I’m hoping it will be available as a DIO without the wiring for $250 or so. I need it day one though. I hate the aftermarket ones as they always sit lower, and the OEM ones are nice and tight to the frame.

I don't think anyone knows how it's pre-wired yet. My assumption would be plug and play (like Jeep does it), run an extra plug off one of the taillights. Which in turn will make this a $100 aftermarket option.

Maybe for Ford's next event someone can ask that question.

I think there is a nanny called "trailer sway control" included.

Never thought of that... Then again never had it either.. I'd be fine with saving the $600 at that point. But some people might want that.

Ford Bronco Tow Package Question Screenshot_20201025-074559_Chrom

This is all we know right now. With how overpriced some things are on the B&P I'm betting you don't get much more then a hitch & wiring, but at this price I'm definitely going aftermarket.

This is my concern...i know the hitch will be cheaper after market. But if i don’t get the package, will it not come with this (the plug)?

I think it’s pretty safe to assume that without the tow package, you do not get the plug/wiring harness, or the receiver.

As discussed in the other thread, we won’t know how easy it will be to add a harness in the future aftermarket... but the 4-pin should be relatively easy with a plug-and-play harness. 7-pin gets more complicated.

Most vehicles (trucks) already come with the wiring/plug even without a hitch (tow package)....so that’s what i was curious about $595 hitch? Or are they not gonna put the plug either if you don’t get the “package”. If it’s a “package”, I’m assuming it’s more than a hitch?

This is from Outer Banks under "Safety". It looks like it is standard whether you get the tow package or not.

Security
Standard
  • Trailer Sway Control
  • Perimeter alarm
  • LED Headlamps with LED Signature Lighting
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps
  • Rear View Camera
  • AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™ )
