Mishimoto intercooler for the 2.7 in our Badlands Sasquatch has been the best upgrade. There was immediate improvement (engine cold or hot). It is worth every penny. I also added Flowmaster axle back exhaust and a K&N cold air prior to the intercooler, so had a good baseline to start with.

A close second place addition was the ZRoadZ rock sliders. Those should have been standard equipment (a real deal piece).

The Ford Performance engine tune, heavier tie-rod ends and the skid plates for the rear shocks towers will be my next ones.

Can you ‘splaying to a third grader what the intercooler does ? I have an idea, but I’d rather hear the actual reason.

Little air + little fuel = small boom = truck go fast

Lotsa air + Lotsa fuel = big boom = truck go faster.

Air coming out of the turbo is hot and is therefore less dense than cool air, intercooler cools the air before it reaches the manifold.

The better the cooling the denser the air. The denser the air the more fuel you can add. The more fuel you can add, the bigger boom you can make. The bigger the boom, the faster you go.

Ford Performance tune - hefty cost but feels like a working non clunky vehicle now. Had it for a week and it's a night and day difference in 2d and even Sport has noticeable rev changes for the better.

Also the must needed combo of IAG front flaps + DV8 2021-2023 Ford Bronco | OE Plus Series Side Steps.

Think both of these in some equivalent package (a tune + a way to step up into a massive vehicle and protect rocks) is necessary.
Thinking about ordering the DV8 OE plus steps and I have the IAG front flaps. Any fitment issues? Would love to see a picture. Do the steps cover the pinch welds? Thanks in advance

Custom Interior Lighting.

Ordered IAG dome light kit for my 4-door hardtop Bronco, but really didn't like the way they stick out with the brackets. Looked far from stock. But their install video gave some clear instructions for running the wires, so decided to do a custom solution with flush mount LEDs. Picked the ones linked below because they have a low profile on the back side, mount flush, and are aluminum vs. plastic. Ran wires along the roll bar, then down the A-pillar similar to the IAG process. Trim pieces are easy to remove and pop back in, and these mount behind the airbags so no possible interference there. Tied into the door opening wire via vampire clip, and also ran a wire to one of the upfitter switches. Both work now. You do need to use a diode inline from the door open wire to where it connects to the upfitter switch so that the upfitter doesn't send current back through the dome light circuit. Overall, really happy with how bright it lights up the interior, how it automatically comes on with the door opening, and how it blends in when not in use. On/Off compare pics attached.

No fitment issues yet as of three months of having them. They get dirty easy but looks great and wide enough to be usable. The bolts went along the welds and the large bolt holes underneath and behind to feel snug and secure.

Not really a mod, but the deep sleep mattresses (set up on top of Ford drawer) make all kinds of trips easier. I’m just getting started, but they’re about to be 2 for 2 on beach camping.

I like the increased HP, but not sure I wanna give up anymore MPG.
I have to say it be been very happy with the pep I have with my 2.3L 2 door.

I’d love to squeeze a few more MPG’s out of the engine, but doesn’t look like a lot of quality options.

I average about 18 around time and 20 on the highway 291-340 miles per tank (according to the dash display)
