All dealerships were aware that allocations are a way of life with Ford and knew they were subject to change, unfortunately customers of the dealerships weren’t. Dealerships deliberately taking an unusually high amount of orders for a specific model knew the risk, again customers did not.

Confused now. So if you convert to a Badlands but keep all of those constrained items, do you get built? Or you do have to convert to a Badlands AND remove all of those constrained items?

This gets so confusing for the buyer.

For says "Make sure you negotiate a price with your dealer." So we do that.

Then Ford says, "Sorry, you picked the wrong dealer. We're not giving them allocation."

Now Ford is saying, "You picked the wrong Bronco trim. Try again."

I'm not a mind reader, Ford. What do I have to do to buy a vehicle?

Thanks for catching me up.

But what evidence do we have for “these dealers were initially given the go ahead”? Do we have anything other than the offending dealers saying so?

I’ve done a lot of work in the automotive space and I’ve never seen a manufacturer/dealer agreement that would make this acceptable and not a breach with the other dealers. The other dealers were most likely well within their rights to complain.
It’s a fair question. From what I’ve gathered based on what Granger and other discount dealers have said, they checked and were not waived off from making the offers to customers. Ford controlled the reservation system and should have been aware that certain dealers were getting quite a high volume of reservations and eventually orders. Ford could’ve stepped in at any point and let dealers and customers know that this kind of arrangement won’t fly and shut it down. Silence is complicity, imo, and all of us with below invoice deals have known for some time that we’d have to wait. Now the punishment for seeking a better deal is being applied to customers along with remaining order holders. Fair is an over used word so I’m not going to use it but Ford could’ve made this much less painful if they’d communicated better with customers.

DO all units with the Rag Top still deliver with an option for a hard top install at some point they can get the supply issue figured out?
Yes, but the problem is the cost of a hard top when not bought as an option.

Some orders will still have hard tops. They are still producing them. It's not like the hard top factory burnt down. You'll just be option 4. Maybe you get it, maybe you get cancelled.
I understand this, which is why I emailed my dealer same day and told them to let my order ride.

I thought maybe there was a possible soft top option soon to push out 2doors. The email from ford is Vague when it comes to the 2 door build.

Still Waiting. Reserved my Wildtrak on 11/22/2020. Order date 3/7/2021. Over 2 years from res, nearly 2 years from order. when I ordered mine there wasn't even dialogue about a "warthog" or "Heritage editions". Can't build mine but since then develop and sell Ratpters, other model kinds, and other later ordered Wildtraks that may not have my options. Come on Ford, stop giving dealers ones until you fill original year one orders.

This comment is going to be unpopular and might get me in trouble.

But if what you wrote is true it tells you the real culprit here is the dealers who booked a gazillion orders with no allocation, not FoMoCo.

Can you imagine being a dealer and being told the manufacturer will bail you out but in exchange you’re getting no allocation, potentially for years? That’s death for a dealer.

This is why many manufacturers (not Ford) have contractual restrictions preventing dealers from selling outside of territory.

If this backlog clear/allocation restriction is true, anyone with orders from a heavily over-ordered dealer needs to be on high alert right now.
The thing is, Granger took all those reservations before allocations were even a thing. Ford changed the rules after the fact.

In the early days of Bronco reservations Ford was telling dealers get a reservation, get a Bronco. This was Ford's first attempt at build-to-order and it failed spectacularly when the mega dealers wouldn't (couldn't?) complete. They complained to Ford which changed back to allocations and the rest it history that will be studied as a bad example for years to come in business and marketing classes.

So how does the hardtop impact 2 door without lux and sasquatch? Since all 2 doors are hardtop. Does anyone have insight on this?
Glad I switched to a four door and removed the hard top for a soft top now. I probably still wouldn’t have my Bronco if I hadn’t done that.

That’s ridiculous they give you less than a week to make a decision. I wonder how many people with reservations will not even know this is occurring?
its a
So…..not to upset anyone, but if Ford isn’t going to make the WT for a while, why not offer the heavy-duty steering rack as an option on the BL? I'll take one, please.
absolutely as a Wildtrack order holder, I would be OK with that. That Hoss 3.0 fixes a lot of shortcomings in that bronco steering.

I couldn't imagine dropping from a Wildtrak to a Badlands with no sasquatch, and thinking $2500 was enough to make it right. It's gonna cost way more than $2500 to get you back to that. Hard top for soft top, argue all day about that, lux vs high, argue the merits of one over the other all day...but that Sasquatch, that would be a non starter to me. If it isn't sasquatched I'm not interested.
I would consider Badlands. I just don't know if Ford would actually allow me to have that.

Talk to your dealer. You shouldn't have an order for one from a dealer that doesn't have an allocation. That was a problem when the raptor first became available, but by now, if you still have an order, it should be allocated. not necessarily scheduled, but available to be scheduled.
I’m only asking if these constraints apply to the Bronco Raptor.
I’m a day 1 reservation holder. I received the Raptor golden ticket last year, put in my order which was then pushed to 2023 MY. I then put in an updated 2023 order which is now waiting to be scheduled.
I’m sure Ford or my dealer will eventually reach out but I’m trying to find out if this will push my order out even further. I’m guessing no one knows if this affects Raptors or not yet because I haven’t seen anything mentioned.

Exactly. @Ford Motor Company has failed at communication literally every step of the way. This fuck up & all continued fuck ups fall solely on their leadership.

My original dealer has crazy ADM on all stock Broncos. Any idea if I’m able to choose a stock vehicle from a different dealer to apply the $2,500 credit to?
