Batty Bronco RIP

Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. A week after I had my wife's Bronco detailed we started to notice a bad interior odor. It got stronger as the days went by and I started to wonder if it was a product the detail guy used. But it smelled like dead rodent so today I started tearing it apart, looking everywhere. Every time I stuck my head through the passenger door it hit the hardest, seemed to be coming from the beam across the door. Popped the hard top panel off and found this poor guy. I think he came in from outside, by the little foam gasket at the rear of the panel. Smell is gone. So is the dead bat.

I see little bats all the time around dusk, flying seemingly aimless but actually getting bugs. I wonder if this little guy flew down low enough and the windows were open on the Bronco. Darted in one side and BAM, wedged into that little crevice on the other side.

We definitely have bats here, I know there are a few in cracks and crevices around our home. Don't know for sure how he got in.

So my wife had something similar in regards to the smell in her edge. We searched and searched and couldn't find anything... Turns out she left a protein shake chillin in the back seat door...

PSA Don't leave a protein shake in the car in TX, it smells like a dead animal.
