First full day of ownership lol.......put removable steps on the 2D rock rails, installed a shorty antenna, painted silver Badlands wheel rings to black. Added additional door code, and then put a few miles on it.

Any recommendation for where to buy those?

Made up a DIY mud flaps from a rubbermade type of tote . $18.00 well spent.

There's an idea. I'd have used a black tote myself but this is functional for cheap.

Picked her up Friday afternoon, spent part of Saturday playing the mud over by Big Sur, then had an epic drive down PCH, back home to LA.

650 miles in a single weekend. I'm in love with this damn thing.

Installed my Midland MTX-275 today!

Love the radio, and pleased with the install. Mounted the head-unit just underneath the steering column, sharp-edged plate (Double-side tape).

Thanks! Unfortunately, I didn’t think to document along the way.

Here’s what I used:
==> Midland MXT-275
==> RJ-45 Cable extender
==> 3db gain stubby Midland antenna
==> Hood mount

The install was pretty easy: dedicated power cord / antenna brought through the firewall gasket. (Took me a minute to realize there are “two sides” to the gasket. Think rubber tuna can). Cut off the 12-volt car adpater; tied red to the AUX yellow-orange (Aux6), and the negative to the frame grounding nut nearby.

After mounting the head unit under the overly-sharp metal bracket under the steering column, I removed the front environmental controls panel. The Pickens Party of Five videos on installing the auto-stop-start eliminator really helped.

I measured out the square shape using blue painter’s tape. A narrow-blade oscillating saw worked great. UNTIL I tried to re-install the panel, with the extender installed. Turns out there NO space behind that location… Opps..

So I cut an approximate 1” x 1” x 1” cube of space from the black plastic compartment behind it, and prayed. Luckily the space was void and seemed like maybe it’s an air-vent.

Panel snapped into place. Also shout-out to the excellent Trail-Recon youtube video on this this install. Between his and PPo5 install videos, wasn’t too bad.

Just completed first road trip. Drove about 1000 miles roundtrip to visit family for Easter weekend. Happy to report the Bronco handled well on the highway. Last leg of the trip was in pouring rain and so far so good with the MIC hardtop. It was the first real test especially since I had the roof off all weekend.

I installed the Go Rhino D6 step bars by myself. PIA. There’s a trick to holding the brackets in place that took me a while to master. They do a great job stopping rocks and helping my wife get in the Bronco.

I also installed some $32 eBay fog lights. I cut 2 aluminum triangles and mounted on the modular bumper’s side openings with the existing 3 bolts. I couldn’t justify $400-1000 for fog lights.
