Omg that's a first.

A little birdy told me he's a paint guy. Probably double checking it was perfect before leaving the line.
Cracking up that the little birdie knows who he is ๐Ÿ˜‚ Well that paint better be perfect since he hopped in my pic!

Got Steamboat home just now, after a sunny but windy ride up the coast. Hubby drove him from the dealer's to a coastal resort where we changed cars, and I drove the 50 mi home. A fun ride! Peppier yet more stable than I expected (or than the user manual warned us about). Things I noticed, in no particular order:
  • noisy ride, partly due to stiff winds, even w/ sound deadening roof liner, but I almost never drive w/o music, so I won't notice any noise when the tunes are cranked up
    • Hubby nerded out on his leg of the trip, plugged in his play list and speakers sounded great
  • comfy seats! So glad they're cloth. The leather seats in my 'stang were never comfortable
  • engine shutting off at stop lights is disconcerting--I haven't learned to trust the restart as soon as brake is released and I wonder about the starter motor
  • cornering not as tight as the Mustang but better than the Honda
  • love the color. Gold specks sparkle in the sun!
  • I'm pretty lithe for 5'2, 72--tai ji helps--but I do think I'll get steps.
  • Next step: ceramic coating. Have to go around and interview some shops.
  • a rattle on the passenger side that sounded more plasticky than metallic--vents?
@One Deplorable: the transaction at North Bay Ford was a breeze--in and out in 40 mins, including setting up Ford Connect and ApplePlay, getting a demo tutorial, shooting the breeze, oohing and aching at ours and some other Broncos there, showing Kyle our First Batch tumbler, etc

No ADM, no shenanigans; "non-tax" fees were less than quoted. Supposed to get the FordPass points for reservation <12/20 + for new gas-powered vehicle, but they haven't shown up in acct yet. Might take a few days. I'll PM you a couple more things.

Rear plate installed.

Can you explain how the custom plates work? Iโ€™ve looked into getting one but I guess Iโ€™m confused about the registration part. Do you pay an annual registration fee on top of the plate price? The Texas dmv doesnโ€™t really say how that works

Heads up, my weekly call with Ford CS (800)334-4375 resulted in a $100 gift certificate to a Ford Merch store. I didn't ask for it, she offered it because I've been waiting so long. If not offered, it might be worth asking for swag or a nice Ford Merch item maybe it's a throw in for tired customers.
My weekly call to find out where my replacement airbag is so I can actually pick the Bronco up from the dealership resulted in the lady telling me I should cancel the order and get my $100 back so we're about even here.

Thanks what i thought as well. I can hear odd things, like people talking as i pass them at low speeds, but not anything thats bad or that we can't get use to.
Didn't notice the voices, but I did hear the thud of a few jaws hitting the ground on the drive home!

Go to https://www.myplates.com/
Design the plate you want, pay for it and they mail it to the courthouse in your area. You have to go pick it up and register it with the txdot when you pick it up and pay the registration fee unless itโ€™s a new vehicle and i already paid the dealership.

hey Not yet. Still looking for the blue AC tabs. Want to swap?

Lemme chew on that and see what the GF thinks...I was more interested if we coulda swapped the grab handles too....i didn't realize they wouldn't match.....same thing on the center grab handle? The housing area is a different color?

It's ideal for the ranch and desert vehicle it's destined to be. I do like the retro look!

Me too. I'm big on "sound"....been reading that "do-it-yourself" sound deadening thread where the guy used the dynamat......i wanna do it, but have never worked with it at all, kinda scared to screw up my top.

Let us know if you find a solution. I wanted to listen to every nuanced sound, so didn't turn on any radio/music. Wind must have been 16 knots w/ gusts up to 20--white caps on the ocean as far as the eye could see. Oh, and I should note that Steamboat was more stable in the wind than I expected. Easy to control, no sailboarding.

Ok, gonna see if folks on this thread can give a better answer. There was a thread going on it, but it kind of disintegrated and never seemed to give a straight answer.

Apparently there's different buttons on the center GOAT dial....depending on if your Bronco has trail control AND one pedal drive......

Here's a pic of the two (and perhaps there's a 3rd if you have a manual?).

My UNDERSTANDING is the 2.7 has BOTH features, while the 2.3 auto ONLY has trail control. Is this correct?

What doesn't seem to make sense to me is the 2.7 button has ONE icon with BOTH functions, but the 2.3 auto has TWO icons on the button but ONE function? Seems like whichever bronco had both functions would have a center button with two icons. Right?

Or, am i getting it wrong and the 2.7 ONLY has the one-pedal function?
