I prefer to stay on the down low but.... I like the design of the ADV offering. I like the idea that their products are highly thought of. The price point is in line given the price difference between buying the MOD top from the Ford parts counter. If you think Ford is going to drop its price because of third party completion then I pray you are not holding your breath.
One thing with Ford is they have the resources to sell it cheaper than a 3rd party and still make a bigger profit. I wouldn't count Ford out of this game.

I see what your saying, but I still don't believe the soft top from Ford would cost you 5k and the modular 5800 for the upgrade which is what they would be assuming to be competitive.
Last I saw the soft top replacement for a crash repair was $4000

Where did Ford estimate $7K? That seems outrageous given Wrangler hard top costs.
This is the current (reported) replacement cost from Ford for crash replacement. Aftermarket sales are expected to be lower once fixed/available

Good looking render you mean. Lol
I laugh every time I see someone comment they look good. It's only a render folks. They don't even have a real top fitted according to ADV yet, so even they don't know if it's going to work.

6g never fails to disappoint. What did people expect for a: first to market, designed from scratch, hand built top in a material shortage market? And don't forget about the hundreds of R&D hours that will need to be recooperated through a niche market.

And for the outraged "aftermarket Jeep tops are only $xxxx!" crowd, oh, you mean the companies that have been making a top for a model that has barely changed in the past 15 years are able to offer a cheaper product. Who would have thought.

These are the same people that will be whining in a few years that there is no Bronco aftermarket support because they ran them all off.
It's a tough world out there. If a manufacturer is going to be scared off by customers challenging them and the product, they probably should turn off the lights and go home. If they offer a good product at a realistic price, people will buy. Nobody likes a business that plays games.

Sorry guys, price wise it's a pass for me. I do think the price is reasonable for what you are offering, and its right in line with what you said on the first forum “going to cost more than a jeep top but not $10k”.
However, I will be revisiting you guys soon for the ram air hood 😏

The thing with the mod top though is that you will be able to buy it already painted and it will have 3 removable sections and the clamshell. It will have all of the wiper/defrost hookups and possibly more. if you order it on your build, no extra shipping charge driving the price higher. Ford will back the warranty on not only the top, but the wiper defrost is already installed, eliminating another headache.
The mod top will not be delivered painted, dealer will need to do that.

I like it, but 7k is a bit steep when its under 1k from the factory, and the talk I have heard from the dealerships (more than 1s) is a bit more like 12 to 1500 plus shipping. I would think there would be more outside competitors as well by then, but in the meantime, get what you can and good luck to you.
Was waiting for this! It’s not less than $1k. It’s the $2500 soft top cost PLUS $695 at time of order. But no one can get one for near that when they need one for a wrecked bronco. It’s actually $6k+.

It’s a garbage argument they made. Lol The aftermarket will be there for the Bronco for decades. The people charging a Bronco tax can shutter their doors and the world will move right along. The customer is always right (the real origin of the phrase, not the bastardization people use at grocery stores). If their pricing is too high, someone will eventually come along and fit the demand at a more reasonable price point. Or maybe once ADV recoups their ”hundreds of hours of R&D” and gouge the early adopters, they’ll come back down to earth. But by that point, I’ll probably already go OEM where I can fit my 4 doors in the cargo area on a MIC 3.0.

As someone mentioned before... economies of scale will be a factor. if you want to be an early adopter... you're going to pay more. eventually the price may come down but it could be awhile. For me, I live nearby and the wife wants the hard top so I am probably going to get it. I just want to see pictures of the prototype when available.

I'm not optimistic that Ford will be able to produce enough MIC tops to have them readily available as an accessory in 2023 (per their plan) if they can't even keep on pace with production this year so far. My guess.... Ford's MIC when available could be between 3800-4200 (excluding shipping and taxes).
